Editing

My first publishing job was proofreading Rolling Stock Magazine in Boulder, Colorado in 1988. I then worked for the University of Arizona Press in Tucson as a proofreader and later as an editorial assistant. I was fortunate to be trained in an academic publishing house where editorial standards were high and accuracy and correctness were crucial. After getting my MA in TESOL (University of Arizona, 1991) I taught for about four years, then returned to publishing in 1995 as an in-house editor and then senior editor with Longman Asia ELT in Hong Kong. Since 1997, I've worked as a freelance development editor and project manager on a variety of projects, some examples of which are shown on this page.
